Actor Studio Workshop
Part-time evening class for adults learning professional acting techniques in a fun, friendly group.
Why?
Having a creative hobby is a key element to a balanced, quality lifestyle. Acting offers the very best opportunity for creative expression. Release your inner actor and enjoy the chance to free yourself and learn how to play a character. Perhaps you're a natural born actor who has never had the opportunity to express yourself. This 8 week course will give you professional actor training in a fun, friendly group. Prepare for a lot of laughs as you learn to tread the boards and step into character!

What?
Over 8 weeks we learn a variety of classical acting techniques, from Shakespeare to Improv. We cover the drama school syllabus and learn voice and acting techniques that all actors are trained in.
Covering Stanislavsky (The Method), Chekov, Text work, subtext and motivations, Voice work, Camera work, Improv techniques and varied character creation techniques. You will build a skill set and perform a monologue or duologue of your choice for the final show.
Each week we will perform actor warm ups and learn exercises and techniques that form the core of the art.
According to the interests of the group we can focus on anything from classic to contemporary theatre - whatever connects most with you personally.
I will direct you to draw out a super performance you can be proud of.
Who?
I always wanted to act and after 3 wonderful years at Drama School, fulfilled my dream of working for a decade as a professional actor. Through my agent I enjoyed working on everything from Soaps to Shakespeare.
Most of my success came in the theatre which was my true love, performing in leading roles, touring across most regional theatres in the UK. I was lucky enough to perform with the RSC and National Theatre on a variety of projects.
In TV, a myriad of roles came in from BBC and ITV, including Casualty and Coronation St with brief appearances on Emmerdale and Eastenders. One particularly fun role was in My Parents are Aliens.
As I grew older and weary of the travelling theatre lifestyle, my body and mind needed a break and I moved my career into global tech and became a Senior Executive for Apple and Google. (I acted my way in!)
Now I teach people to speak in public and passionately love to help people creatively express themselves through drama.
